Today’s music producers and content creators must focus on getting fans ‘attention’ and keeping it for as long as possible. You need to energize that fan base and one of the best ways to do this is to feed them a continuous stream of stimulating content. It takes time but the benefits of having this kind of interest and love for your fans is what its all about.
Ok I’m a big Imogen fan and love what she does musically. Her approach I believe is very future of music, totally interACTIVE, someone who genuinely interacts with fans. She talks to her fans, asks for ideas, gets them involved even when it comes to artwork and remixes.
When you treat your fans in this way they will in turn support you, especially if you are giving them an insiders view on whats going on with you and your music. When the music is also amazing then it’s a win win situation. If you take the time to check out the Youtube video blog you will get the chance to see approx 40 or so 10 minute video blogs.

If you want fans to support you financially including buying your music you need to ‘give’ so get attention, maintain attention and build the relationship first, then the money will come when you give them something special and of real value. In the case of Imogen Heap that something special is a new album ‘Ellipse‘ released on August 24th – Myself along with many others will be happy to buy an album I’ve been told about in advance and given an insight into over previous months via the video blogs.
Call to Action:
