For those of you into music production or just starting out and having not yet entered the magical software wonderland of GarageBand, Cubase, Logic or even Pro Tools, I have a little something here of interest.
Digimix is a small company that creates browser-based audio editing software. In early March 09 Aviary announced that it had acquired DigiMix and plans to incorporate the audio editor into its own suite of applications.
Aviary is a collaborative creative suite for artists of all genres. Available both on and offline, via Adobe’s Flex and Air technologies respectively, Aviary enables artists to create on the fly with an inventory of tools for every medium. From image editing to typography to music to 3D to video, artists can create and collaborate using the free, light, and powerful software.
Digimix’s Flash-based audio editor can handle up to fifteen tracks in real-time, though its homepage indicates it has not yet launched to the public. The editor appears to offer some of the functionality offered by popular audio editors like GarageBand, but it will be available online with no installation required.
Have a look at Aviary’s Raven Vector Editor, it can be used to create fully scalable vector art appropriate for logos or tee shirt designs – you wont find a similar tool on the web.
Music Money Link:
This may well be a very attractive proposition depending on your creative needs and what exactly you want to achieve. Imagine always available online in the ‘clouds’ ah heaven! Not sure at present if service will be free or subscription based.
